The Arizona Game and Fish Commission met on October 14, 2011 to select award recipients for their Annual Commission Awards. The Arizona Heritage Alliance was selected by the Commission to receive the 2011 Conservation Organization of the Year Award for its commitment and efforts in protecting, preserving and enhancing the Arizona Heritage Fund and its objectives.
The award will be presented at the Commission’s Annual Awards Banquet, which will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Carefree Resort & Conference Center.
Congratulations! The award is well deserved for fighting to maintain the fund as the people of Arizona voted for. I hope in the future we can keep the Legislature from subverting the will of the people and we can keep their hands off our funds.

I follow your blog often, and I must agree with The Arizona Game and Fish Commission that you are a pivotal force in protecting, preserving and enhancing the Arizona Heritage Fund. Many Arizonans and those from abroad benefit from the wealth of information you provide. I believe increasing general awareness is key to solving any critical issue, and you financial and educational efforts do just that.
